[After classes, Maya can find Caleb reading a book in the cafeteria by himself, if she would like to choose to join him. Or more accurately, she can come see Frumpkin, who is chilling on top of the table.]

Hi, Frumpkin! [ that statement is accurate. maya is immediately going for the pets ]

... Oh, hi, Mr. Widogast. [ after a moment, like she didn't see him ] Are you studying?

Eh - not exactly, but I'm doing a little reading. I had some more questions after the lecture.

[Frumpkin is very available to be pet; automatically a friendly playful kitty.]

Have you been enjoying the classes so far?

[feytality]

[ frumpkin is gonna be so spoiled ]

Well... I got kicked out of one of them. Still trying to figure out where the principal's office is. The rest are.....

[ ..... ]

Is this what all schools are like?

[katzepaw]

I can't answer for all schools. When I attended school, it was. . . a little like this. The dorms, the atmosphere. But it's almost as though - filtered through a lens in a story. Something very silly.

[feytality]

A story, huh.....

[ considering ]

It does remind me a little of a story.

Whisked away to another world, a school run by animals, wishes granted - it's a little like a fairytale.

Has anything like this ever happened to you before?

[ studying his face... ]

Not exactly like that, no. [He seems sincere about it, though.] Why do you ask?

[feytality]

I was just wondering. Some people have had kinda similar experiences. It's good to compare notes and all that.

[katzepaw]

I've seen a lot of very strange things; I'll believe just about anything is possible. But to me, nothing like that.

[feytality]

I get the feeling we've all seen strange things... we're a pretty strange bunch, after all.

Would you believe actually being inside a book? Like, a magic one?

[katzepaw]

Sure. It's possible. You can build a pocket dimension into the pages of a book - I've seen it done, though on a scale too small to travel to.

[feytality]

Pocket dimension in a book...? How does that work, exactly?

[katzepaw]

Well, anything can be the gateway to a demi-plane if you know how to set it. I've seen it done so it's almost, uhm, a magical safe, where you can store things if you know it's there. But there's no reason it couldn't be a gateway to a larger place, and a person could travel through.

I'm a little bit novice at it, but for mine I've devised a gateway that can be placed inside a wardrobe, or the side of a wall. Or even a little smaller, but not as small as a book. And then you go inside and it's a tower that can house and feed a large number of people.

[ maya only seems to understand like 20% of that explanation..... ]

How about a whole town inside a book? I bet a lot of magic could pull off somehing like that, right?

I don't see any reason why not. Speaking from experience?

[feytality]

Despite my vast knowledge, there are certain gaps in my learning. And even my friend Mr. Mollymauk couldn't assist me with this one, but I wondered if you were the scholarly sort who might know these things.

Would you happen to know what is meant by a pinky promise?

oh! i AM the scholarly kind of person who would know that!

but it's not something that can be taught over text! it needs to be in person
