[for ease of threading let's just say she already sent him a message earlier to meet her at her dorm; texts can't be deleted, and there are some conversations it just seems better to have off of the phone.
after she lets him in so they can go to her room, and gestures for him to sit down:]
I think you might want to continue keeping a close eye on Ichinose.
[please not the toilet seats she does not want to hold people back from murdering over it.]
I have a fairly good idea of why she shared the theory that she did with you. You might too, by now, I don't know how widespread this is at the moment, but-- the assignments absolutely include harming others. My newest one does, though not that badly.
I'm pretty sure she's had one and was willing to do it, because I think she did it with me.
To frame someone-- if they're trying to get people killed, she might just be right about the murder assignments.
[fuck. that's some worrying shit to hand to people, but the mention that they don't intend to go through with it puts her a little more at ease.]
...she burned both of us fairly badly, though. I don't know if that assignment would have required her to be hurt as well-- she's been claiming it was accidental, but I don't think that's the truth. There were things that just didn't line up about it.
No, with water. [scalds...] She was boiling it, and claimed that she was just making... one of those small instant dishes, but was using a larger pot and much more water than necessary, and she was closely watching its temperature when I came in. She removed the thermometer immediately when I did, and then moved the pot to the edge of the stove.
[and, with a sigh:]
She seemed-- off, at the time, but it wasn't long after the trial, so I thought a little less of everything in the moment. I suppose the results of trying to intervene before anyone got hurt are pretty obvious.
There's also a matter of how far to take these things. If you are told to burn or scald someone, there would still be. . . ways? To minimize the damage versus how she went about this.
I had one to, uhm, feed someone spoiled food. It wasn't my favorite task, but no one was harmed aside from eating something with a bad taste.
There would, which makes me wonder just what that task would have been-- if it was to injure herself and another person, there are ways to minimize that, too.
[either way, it just doesn't feel all that accidental, despite what it was.]
I just received one to knock someone out without warning them.
Not... yet. It's not as bad as it could be, but if this is only the third one, I have to question whether it's just going to keep escalating after, and just how much they're going to try to ease people into harming each other with the threat of no longer being able to complete these if they won't.
I'll consider alternative methods. The vibe check just isn't going to cut it for me.
I will tell you that Beauregard or Mollymauk are probably not going to care if you do this to them and explain yourself later. I have seen Beauregard get in bar fights to unconsciousness for a little bit of fun.
In my case, I don't want to be physically knocked out, but something like scalding someone - I don't care if you do that without warning me. More vouchers, better for everyone.
Well, you know, so I wouldn't be doing it to you either way.
[not that she would have to begin with, but.]
I wouldn't care much about it if, as you said, it were mitigated at all. Fortunately I don't actually feel the worst of what she managed, but that degree of damage still isn't ideal. If these are going to be more commonplace, we need to keep an eye on how they're being handled and on people who may be willing to take them further.
W2, tuesday

No, okay. He'll come in and sit down. Raising an eyebrow at the comment.]
Ah. Why do you say so?

[Scratching at his wrist a little, watching her evenly.]
But that person I talked to doesn't intend to go through with it, lucky for us. What did she do?

[Hmm. Yikes.]
Why don't you tell me how she went about it? She's my suitemate, I can keep an eye on her.
