I know. I was originally going to be working with their third, but I didn't have enough to offer, by his estimation.
[.... and she didn't think the plan mentioned was going to work out, so. she has done her own thing.]
I'll tell Manwol, though. Maya will know, I'm letting all of Spring know so we can talk about it, but.
I'm also asking Hugo if it's possible to pass along written messages, since we have no other method of communication. If he thinks it might work, then... in that case I'll be asking every dorm to put messages together to send, so I'll let you know.
I'm curious what you offered to Hugo. Before I knew you were bidding, I was trying to help Manwol think through what to offer him. He is a bit mysterious.
That is a clever idea. I'm sure many people would have messages they'd like to give.
I didn't know it was them until a little later, either; I just wasn't sure it would work, from what I was told.
But-- Claude was willing to go to Summer even before the deaths, so we offered that to try to help balance things a bit. Hugo doesn't tend to want them for himself, so instead we made the promise to ensure out vouchers would go to whoever needed them most, but we did include five or so just to try to make him take a few. We also promised the communication ability would be used primarily to get whatever information the dead are able to share, to try to help put an end to all of this, and to prioritize that and sharing the information gathered over everything else.
So with the last part in mind, especially, it's... I'm trying to get them through where we can, but it isn't the main goal. He told me that was why he accepted.
That makes a lot of sense to me. He is pragmatic. And I respect that those are his priorities. Perhaps you shouldn't have told people you won, though. They will be trying to send more personal messages.
I'm aware, but we don't want potential questions to be overlooked because we didn't tell anyone and they knew something we should ask. I've already had one thing brought up that I might have left off, if I hadn't asked for input.
And I do want to try. If the method we're thinking of works, it won't interfere with talking to them about what we need to know.
Or what might be too dangerous to ask. I intend to, later.
[and, after a little delay:]
He says it should work. I can deliver messages if they're written, I just won't be able to bring anything back from their end. So if you wouldn't mind letting Winter know... I'm taking a day or two to discuss and get all this in order. Likely Wednesday.
If that's a request, then I'll take it under advisement. We actually haven't spoken much, so I can't say I know for sure how that would go over-- it's usually Taichi.
We've been trying to get Spring to be better about the same thing, honestly. We all get along just fine, but it does feel like there's something of a tendency toward doing things on our own.
[which, okay, she is sometimes one of them. but still.]

You were right, of course. We were outbid by someone who was trying to help us. Will you do me a favor?

It's up to you.
[she'll trust his decision making there, it's his own dorm. he'll know better than she does if it's fine for all of them to know.]
