The person it happened to before - as far as I'm aware, they confessed after to their friends, and have not hurt anyone else. Sparing them is an option, but that would mean. . .
[He grimaces a little.]
Either volunteers, or we kill whoever is left of Otome's little group.
That's-- more or less what I was told of that person, too. It seems to only happen to them once, so if we do spare them, they aren't a continued threat. On the other hand, Otome's group would be, but I think that we need to leave them alive, based on the message we were sent.
So it comes down to either... voting out those who become influenced despite the circumstances, or-- volunteering, yeah. And that's not going to be easy to agree on.
...they're the ones we shouldn't be losing. But to tell you the truth, I think it would be more of a hindrance than a help-- someone volunteers, and everyone who cares about them tells them no, and refuses to see them die. We'd just end up with the people willing to give themselves up trying to make a case for it to the people who don't want to let them go; it only worked for Manwol because we had nothing else.
So then that leaves us killing people like Tsuyukusa because it is the easier way. Not that I disagree. It's about as unfair as drawing straws, but likely less traumatic for the group as a whole.
It might be-- less traumatic on those it happens to as well, in a way. Depending on who it is.
I've been told before that those influenced could confess in order to ask for help, and I've had people preemptively ask me... not to give it to them, if they should ever try to get my help. They didn't want to kill and end up getting away with it.

I'm, uhm. I'm worried it will be all like Tsuyukusa from now on.
