[ oh... hi, caleb. ichiro comes to make his way over towards him when he sees him - emotionally, he's just... a little numb. exhausted, mostly. by now, at least the anger seems to have drained out of him. ]
...hey, Caleb-san. [ and will lean down a little to greet frumpkin, too.
[ his hand curls into a fist - there's a flash of anger to his emotions, again, bright and surface level. ]
I won't let it. [ he's strong, he's always told himself, but strength didn't do shit here. ] I have to find a way to break this bullshit cycle. They just - that's what had to be happening with Byleth and Rupert, too, right? That they couldn't say anything, or, what, it would've just killed one of their friends, too? I just -
[ after a second, he manages to stop himself before he starts ranting, infuriated, and scrubs his hand over his face. ] I fucking hate it. I hate running into these brick walls and more death every time it feels like we get somewhere. It's just senseless, cruel, evil, ugly bullshit.
[There's something sort of endearing about his anger. To be so uncynical, in a sense, to feel boiling rage at injustice rather than some uglier, more twisted form of gnawing anger. He hopes Ichiro can break this bullshit cycle before that's what becomes of him.]
[ (caleb voice) you rage? you are like little baby watch this
no im kidding. anyway the injustice of it all really grinds his gears because it's just like home. it's the same furious anger he has towards chuuoku, a place that commits similar crimes for no reason other than because they think it's right, because they see the rest of the world as lesser.
he stays like that for a second, and nods, saying with resolution, with ferocity - ] Yeah. [ and for a moment, his emotions fluctuate through a variety of things - determination into that fury, care and compassion for the people who matter to him, devotion to a cause of solving it.... under that, though, there's a vivid sadness and exhaustion, too.
he sits back on his heels after that outburst, finally. ] ...even today, we got some answers, and we got punished for it. I don't know where to go from here.

quietly: ] ... how's Beau doing?

. . . I think she will be alright. It was an ugly shock but I think she understands she does not bear any guilt for what happened.

It isn't a punishment we can accept, which is exactly why we were given it.
